NEW CAR

TO BOOST the British car industry during the recession they had helped create, the government introduced a £2,000 trade-in on all cars over ten years old.  Our Yaris Verso, which had done well over 170,000 miles and was showing manifest signs of deterioration, did not qualify for this benefit, being only about nine years old.  However, Nissan introduced their own scheme, giving a £2,000 trade-in for cars eight years and over.  We had been told that at the next MoT, we would need to spend £500-600 on the Verso, and so, all things considered, we decided to take advantage of the Nissan scheme.  Realising that most of our journeys are made with only one or two people on board, and that with the building works now drawing to a close, we would not be fetching and carrying so much, we also decided to get a smaller car (and one we could afford).  So, through Bishops of Guildford, we have bought a Nissan Micra, which we collected and then blessed for use on Saturday, 28th November, the first day of the Nativity Fast.  The new car is not only smaller and diesel powered, but should be cheaper to run and we will save over £100 p.a. on road tax alone.  The treatment that we received at Bishops, and from their salesman, Gary Hiller, was exemplary, and much to be recommended.

PRACTICAL TIP

LET US TRY to at least make one small step.  Instead of constantly remembering wrongs, and those whom we presume have wronged us, with bitterness and anger, - let us rather remember the wrongs we have done and the people that we have hurt, and pray for them.
