FUNERAL IN WALSINGHAM
BECAUSE we have been remembering her in our Divine services, parishioners will know of the recent death of Anne Bailey of Walsingham, who is the sister of our Fr Ephraim. Fr Ephraim was unable to attend the funeral because of his infirmities, and so Fr Alexis went to represent him and our Brotherhood. The service was held in the Orthodox parish Church of the Transfiguration at Great Walsingham and she was laid to rest in the local churchyard. Five priests (two MP, two Paris Exarchate, and one SiR), a deacon and a nun were among the twenty or so people at the service. Afterwards one of the parishioners kindly provided refreshments for us all in the nearby home. We pray that Anne will find rest with the Saints and Memory Eternal!
FORMER TRUSTEE ORDAINED
ARCHBISHOP KYRILL of San Francisco (ROCA/MP) ordained Andrew Bond of Mettingham, Suffolk, to the diaconate at the Church of St John the Wonderworker in Felixstowe on Sunday 13th / 26th August. There he will assist Fr Andrew Phillips and Fr Elias Jones in their ministry. Back in 1981, Andrew was one of the original trustees of the King Edward Orthodox Trust, but resigned shortly after the Brotherhood moved in. He is well-known in the Orthodox world as the person who runs the Saint George Orthodox Information Service, as the former editor of “The Old Calendarist” and the present editor of “Orthodox News.”
VISIT OF BISHOP AMBROSE
