BUILDING PROGRESS
THE NEW MONASTIC HOUSE is now fast taking shape. Work has even started on the restoration of the platform of the old London Necropolis Railway, which we are preserving to maintain something of the “heritage” of the site. As was to be expected in trying to achieve something for God, the devil tried to get into the detail, and one job - the finishing of the upstairs floors - was botched by some sub-contractors, but we hope that will speedily be sorted out. On a much happier note, a landmark day for us was Thursday, 26th July, on which the caravan was pulled out of its position alongside the Old Mortuary Chapel and crushed. Through the good offices of Mrs Œ. Trollope, this had been brought on site on the day we took up residence at Brookwood, 18th March, 1982 n.s., and for about three years, until we could afford to have the mortuary remodelled, was our home and office. When we were able to move into the present accommodation, the caravan was demoted to be the workrooms for our candle and incense making and a garden shed. Now, to make way for work between the old and the new houses, it has been removed - see website pictures.
BUILDING FUND
AT THE PRESENT TIME (30/7/7) the total pledged or given to the Building Fund stands at £622,944.34. We thank you all for your generosity in achieving this sum, and ask you to continue your gernous gifts, because, over the period of moving in, there will necessarily be many extra expenses.
DISRUPTION!
IN THE NEXT MONTH or so, our life here will possibly be quite severely disrupted, because we shall be moving, probably piecemeal, into the new accommodation, setting up a new office and workshops, etc. We ask you to bear with us patiently through this period, and to forgive us if there is more than usual delay in attending to your letters, orders, etc. To the very best of our ability we will keep the cycle of the daily church services unaltered.
